Project Description

Following an open tender process, HGM were awarded the contract to upgrade the existing Wooded Gully Track to meet DOC short walk standards.

The Solution

HGM completed a full track upgrade including:

Reshaping of existing track
Installation of drainage channels and culverts
Track realignment and formation of new track
Rock breaking
Installation of piles, bearers and retaining walls for bridges
Bridge construction & Installation
Concrete mixing and placing
Gravel carting, spreading and compacting
Helicopter operations – lifting plant and equipment, lifting old bridges out and new bridges in to place and carting gravel in skips

HGM’s fleet of small excavators, track barrows, tracked tool carriers and battery powered wheelbarrows were perfect for this project and contributed greatly to getting the project completed efficiently and safely while ensuring that the DOC short walk standards were achieved throughout all aspects of the project.
